Use of Diagetic, Non-Diagetic and Pleanastic Sound

Episode One series One- As part of the first episode the characters are intoduced to the viewer for the first time during the opening scene the use of Pleanastic non didagetic sound where a music beat is slowly rises in volume as the charcters are introduced to create suspense and set the scene. The viewer can see they are in detention centre and the use of loud urban music represents the reblious sterotype of teenagers. The use of fast paced non diagetic sound during a aggressive confontation hieghtens the impact of the scene and reprsents the negative emotions of the characters.
The sudden crash of a car followed by the ringing car alarm used diagetic and pleanastic sound to shock the viewer and start the action, this is followed by complete silence although the action still continues the silence is used in this chaotic scene to represent the confused and scared emotions of teh characters whilst allwoing the audience to focus on the sudden and unexplained action on screen.
